Kitty and Dog Thread, Show Me What You Got, other critters welcome too

Pics
I adopted my ruddy Abyssinian when she was 5. She had to have a kitten removed from her birth canal as she couldn't pass it naturally. The kitten was dead and deformed so the cattery owner had the queen spayed. That is how I ended up adopting her. I paid the cost of the spay and she was mine.
That was 11.5 years ago. Yes, she is now 16.5 years old, has survived breast cancer that she had three years ago and still tears around the house like a kitten.
She is the ruler of all. She has ruled a total of 5 Dobermans and the current boy is no exception to her rule.
She has been caught on more than one occasion holding with her claws the face of one of the dogs who would dare disturb her slumber. A rather tense moment for me to say the least! She is a whopping 6.5 pounds.
Most of the pictures I will attach show the house under construction. It still is! She isn't bothered by the power tools in the least. She once walked up onto my arms while I was using a reciprocating saw to cut out an old cast iron hub! She wanted to eat and I couldn't hear her meows because of the saw. She is a pistol.
Her name was Lilo when I adopted her. She has huge ears and eyes and a little pissy face and she reminded me of the main gremlin character in The Gremlins so I changed her name to Mogwai.
Here she is.
Can anyone guess her favorite thing? It is a repeating theme in the pictures!

And her coup de gras moment of "what were you thinking". She has her head in a meat grinder! I just finished grinding a pork butt and along she comes to do early pre-clean work for me.View attachment 1592181
Beautiful cat. Plus, DOBIES!!! My personal favorite breed.

I just saw a mug that said "one cat short of crazy" . . . I don't know how many that would be, but I think I'm over the limit there.

We have . . . several. Some were dubbed "barnacles" because if you stop moving, they settle on you. Usually, it's on your lap, but with Rumble, any horizontal (or nearly horizontal) body part will do:

The tuxedo in those pics is Oreo. She's the matriarch, and the law-giver. The black cat is Tiger's brother Squeaky. Squeaky (aka "Toothless") has an ongoing problem with two of the barnacles (Jumpy and Frisky). Whenever there are sounds of cat conflict, Oreo comes running into the room and breaks up the fight. Nobody argues with the Scimitars of Death!

This was taken after Florence. The roof over this porch was destroyed, there is water well up into the back yard and debris everywhere, you can see the improvised clothesline that I put up because we had no power - Chubs looks like, "Geez! I take my eyes off you guys for a few minutes and this happens!"

FANTASTIC photos!!!

Sounds beautiful!
It's the alternating bands of color that give the Aby the "wild cat" look. She looks like a mini mountain lion. They are very sleek and muscular.
I describe her personality as that of a dog trapped in a cat's body. She fears no one and nothing. All strangers are greeted like a dog would. She's very social.
However, she hates, and I mean HATES cats. On sight. They all must die.
I wonder if the cat hate is a breed thing? A gender thing? Or just a "her" thing...
I know that all my boy cats that I've ever had have always gotten along well with other cats. My one female, not so much. She fought with all other female cats and only tolerated respectful males.
When I was in college, I pet sat for all sorts of kitties and found that, for the most part, the female critters were just not as friendly with other pets as the males. I did get the honor of sitting for one Aby... gorgeous and wonderful cat, if a little on the wild side. He was super cool.
That's actually my experience with dogs too. I just prefer males as pets, in general, because of this.

I have had multiple female cats and would agree that they are generally not as friendly as males.
However, Mogwai takes her hatred of all cats to an entirely new level. If she sees a cat walking through our yard, you would think the devil himself was waltzing past, her blood curdling shriek is that bad.

My Cat Alley. She is 8 years old and a purebred Manx. She lives in my garage in her own Kitty house with a pet heating pad. She is a fantastic hunter and kills Squirrels. She is bossy and slaps all the Dogs or cuddles them. Slaps me if I'm late with her canned cat food.
A great Cat..
She's so pretty, and look at her attitude, she's rules. :D I've always wanted a Manx, I like no tails.

My Stinky is very affectionate and constantly wants to let and talk. We will see if she grows out of it or not. My friend has one female cat that is in your face constantly.

That's a gorgeous cat, the Doberman isn't bad looking either. I was gonna get a Doberman years ago but I got side tracked by boxers instead. Still love the Doberman.
