Knitting 🧶 (Help and Knitters Chat Thread)

I can get to the third row, then I suddenly drop several stitches from the left hand, or basically just mess up. Then it takes several tries to get back to the third row. Am I an idiot, or is it okay for it to take a while?

I was able to get needs of Bamboo set of three wool yarn so get off the phone I am going to try

Patience is a virtue.
Honestly, it sounds like you’re doing great. Can you take a picture? I’m curious about a few things.
What type of needle
What size needle
What type of yarn
How many stitches
What pattern - this one you’ll have to answer as 3 rows isn’t really enough to tell just by looking.

Metal size 7. I tossed the wrapper, but I use (for all projects) the heart brand. Its weight recommended size 7.
The stitches are 11-28, I can get nowhere or somewhere regardless.
I couldn’t tell you a pattern. It’s just knit stitch.

Metal needles are very slippery and red heart yarn, although nice, can also be a bit slippery. It’s likely worsted weight.
I’m not sure what you mean by 11-28. Do you mean you cast on one number and ended up with the other?
If so, that also happens. Just slow down and pay attention to what you’re doing. I found at first that I wasn’t pulling the stitch off the needle properly, etc. Keep whatever you are working on no matter how it looks so you can compare your stuff as you progress. It’s an amazing revelation sometimes. :)

When you are teaching someone to do something, you forget to teach the key points. You know what you are doing, so you forget to mention it. My problem wasn’t the needles or the yarn. I’ve done six rows, and now I’m going to bed.

Okay was trying with nice wool I bought think I can do better with lighter
but found it easier to do mirro image than lefty so learn from watching right handed make sense never did but was always so busy now I am not
