Know Anything About Breeding Parakeets/budgies?

Hello! I am currently trying to breed my parakeets, and my female has been in and out of the nesting box for about 3 weeks. Does anyone know how long it will be until they actually mate? I know that this is mainly for chickens and stuff, but let me know if you know!
