So last night my family came home with 8 WILD EGGS! I don’t remember where they said they found them but it was covered in dirt. We tried candling it before realizing we have no clue on what means what when candling. My cousin decided to open one very slightly. It was only a small crack. That’s how we found out that there are actually living things in these eggs. The egg was bleeding and the chick was breathing. We tried to tape that area back as soon as possible and I currently don’t know if that chick is ok or not because I don’t know how to tell. We were able to conclude that the rest of the eggs were also fertile. It’s been abt 24 hours. I had this lamp that I used to try and incubate them in a big bowl with a towel underneath. A few hours ago I noticed 2 eggs had a small crack as if they pecked from inside. One of them started chirping and has currently made a small hole in its shell. The other one hasn’t done anything else since the first peck and the rest of the eggs have shown no signs of hatching yet. In that 24 hrs, I did research and went out to get what was needed for food and for their brooder for IF any survive. I was not prepared for them to start hatching so quickly and I don’t know how to continue considering I don’t know what day they are on. I’ve been trying to do as much research I can but it’s hard to find advice for my current situation. Someone help me figure out how long I should wait for them to hatch and if there’s anything I can or should do to better the situation. If it wasn’t obvious, I’ve never done this before.
