Is the Casey Co Auction this weekend and can anybody give me details about? I have 12 peacocks I would like to take but not sure I can make Saturday morning or not. Can I take and drop off earlier. How do they need to be seperated, if I dropped them off would they mail me a check?

Thanks

I have an almost full bag of Purena Layena pellets for FREE to anyone wanting to come get it... Thought it only came in crumbles so didn't look at the bag, just grabbed it and went. My chickens won't touch the pellets.

I know what you mean about the pellets. They look to be the size of rabbit food and are just about as hard and the hens will not touch them. I have two bags of pellets that I thought I'd try since the Feed store salesman put them on my list first thing and I said I'd give them a try.

I think he was trying to get rid of them and now I know why. I think I will try soaking them a bit to see if they will soften up a bit. I think it may be tricky as I don't want them to get overly wet. I will be trying to experiment with them. I have also been mixing them in with the mash and scratch to try tricking them into eating them. I have also put some granite chips in so that their crops could better handle the hardness of the pellets.

Just some ideas.

There's a link in my siggy that has all the info. From my understanding you can take them the day before and leave them there. And yes, they do mail you a check

I see that it say that the cage would be sold with them. What would be best, should I pair them up or should I sale the whole lot together? If I sold as pairs would they have to be in seperate cages?

This is regarding the Auction.

Thanks

My understanding is that the reason you are to sell the cage and all is to prevent loose animals.... this way there's no swaping of animals for transportation. So no dividing up of individual animals for selling... if you have 5 in a cage the price is for all 5 plus the cage.... you're not able to say buy 2 out of the 5....

But it does say they prefer all birds to be sold with the cage, that doesn't mean you have to. But you'll want to have them penned the way you want them sold, so if you want to sell them in pairs, pen them in pairs. Either way doesn't matter, peafowl usually sell pretty good there

ETA: Everything taken to this sale sells, I don't think you can not sell something that you put in. At least I've never seen that happen, though I've not been there all that many times. The only questionable part is how much your item will sell for

ETa again: The few times I have seen them sell just the birds was when the birds sold, then they sold the cage. I've not seen anyone sell just the birds, then take their cage home with them.

Im taking them in the morning. I know th e auction starts at 9:00. What time do I need to have the birds there?

Thanks

Whenever, as long as they're there before the auction ends, they'll go through. But the earlier you take them, the earlier they go through. With tomorrow being halloween, I would try and get there as early as possible. I was going to take mine tonight, but with the rain scare, and the fact that mine are in cardboard boxes, I think I'd rather play it safe and wait till morning. Hopefully it won't take too long for them to go through

thats what I figure on doing bring in cardboard boxes. If I get ther bout 8 or so you think that they would go through shortly after start? What time zone is it down there?
