I have another thread running, as I'm still trying to diagnose my hen.

Thought I'd start a new thread with a video of her breathing though, for educational purposes and in case anyone has any ideas.
I'm not sure if this is typical of breathing issues that might accompany egg-bound or pressure in abdominal cavity, or if this could possibly be an upper-respiratory issue. Her breath is very shallow.

Notice area immediately under her beak and how her wattles are flaring.

I don't often see videos posted. They're very helpful.

But I would post this in your original discussion and try to keep everything focused in one area for the best help. It can get too scattered and pull away the focus needed for your primary discussion.

She's so cute. The breathing is interesting because she doesn't seem to be gasping, and her beak seems to only open on an exhale. The backend feathers look a bit ragged.

I have no experience with whatever it is that's ailing her, but I'll browse your other discussion tomorrow and look forward to following along to see how she is doing.

ETA: If you post the video over there and close this one down, I'll copy and paste my comment over there and delete this one if the option is still available to me.

Hi Carolina,
I posted the video to my original thread as well...just thought maybe if I honed in on the breathing topic/mentioned video in topic it might attract someone who'd seen enough labored breathing to know what to look for.
Her rear only looks like that as she'd just had an epsom soak. Egg-bound (or related issue) isnt ruled out yet.
Thanks for your reply!
