Laced silkie

He was gorgeous. Would have love to have been able to breed first. To have some of his to raise. But it was not to be.

Where are you located? I have 2 Silkie/EE mixes that I’ve been looking for homes for that may work for your project. They’re good boys!

I had two, still got one silkie rooster from 3 years ago. Those rascals (polite or not when it comes to breeding) make their rounds. Limp Silkie came up missing about a year ago. He was the alpha silkie, but since he's been gone Big Silkie has stepped up on the stomping and romping. Big Silkie is still a gentleman (even knocks off other roosters) but he asks permission by politely peckingher back lightly before knocking off a piece. Out of about 100 birds left, about half have some of his genes in them. I've put off penning him up because he's a good boy (he dindu nuffins), and he keeps the other roostets in line, especially those damn Rhodies.
Anyway, I'm about to put all Rhodie Roos (feather pulling rapist fighting bastard) in the freezer.
Mr Big Silkie's about to get put out to pasture in a breeding pen to live out his old life with his favorite girl.
Matter of fact, I think I'm about to cull about 20-30 of these frigging machines, tired of bald hens, them fighting, pecking on the dog balls while he tries to eat. Plugging in the other freezer might mean another $15/month but it's cheaper than 3 bags of feed/month.
