Ladies, at what age

My mom dies her hair every month trying to cover the gray. She's just now 40. She says she'll stop when she stops getting a paycheck. LOL.

So is it true, that if you pick a grey hair, 7 more grow in? I'm 29, and I've already found a few, right towards the front, where bangs would root in, if I cut my bangs lol!

I haven't colored for awhile, and really want to, but with being preggo, not sure it's safe. I blame the greys already, on 3 boys

I'm 52 and blonde, though it's gotten very dark in the last 20 years. I have colored my hair a couple of times in the distant past, but I hate the matted, dry texture of colored hair. If I have any gray yet, I cant tell it. Hair color is the least of my problems. I just wish it wouldn't fall out so fast--hereditary thinning.

It is safe for you to color, however, if you do it yourself, you will want to rinse your hair in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water first to remove any protein or medication build up on your hair and then color after it dries. Do not wash it, just the vinegar rinse. If you go to a beautician, let them know you are preggers and they have a rinse they use. My mom has been a beautician for 30 years and says that anytime someone is preggers or on meds, it can cause dullness or unwanted color results. Hope that helps and hope I explained it ok.

I let my hair grow out all the way one time and my friends held an intervention forcing me to cover that gray

for some folks it is beautiful silver or white for me it was red with gray and very very ugly!

so yes with out shame I color my hair and will continue for a long time unless there is another intervention!

Thanks for explaining that Schultz, maybe I can get my hair colored, and be happy with at least one part of my body

I hope you don't end up with a baby the size of my daughter. She was 9lbs 14oz and 24inches long and born a week early. She's 18 now and 6feet tall. That alone is what made me gray!!!

That's a big baby! My cousin is having her 2nd child, at 20. Her first Jorden was 8 pounds even .
