We used to raise lakenvelders. They are very beautiful, great foragers, good layers of medium sized white eggs, non broody, a more aloof type bird. If you spend time around them from chick to maturity they will be much less flighty. Ours never minded us coming in to gather eggs, they would just go about their business. They will add some definite eye appeal to your flock. We have and have had lots of birds, but everyone alway asked "what kind of chickens are those?" You can't help but notice those oreo chickens!
