I’ve posted about this girl before. Now that she’s gotten bigger maybe it would be easier to tell. She should hopefully start laying by March-April. A friend thought a lemon cuckoo marans, but I don’t think so.
She was a random Atwood’s bin purchase.

she has that light lemon coloring a lakeshore egger would have but lacks the crest. She may be a production-quality Marans or even a Delaware with the lemon cuckoo gene. Do you have pics of what she looked like as a chick?

Yes! She’s had my curiosity from the beginning! Wonderful disposition and so pretty!
Random pics I have of her. Not all the best clarity, sorry. 😬

that's ok! Marans tend to have fleshy/pinkish legs and feet, and Deleware's have yellow feet and legs like the sixth pic. My best guess is a cross of the two breeds, or a dirty footed Deleware with lemon genes

Thank you! I just googled buff/lemon Delaware. Feeling like that could be what she is. She’s just cool! 😂🥰

It’s funny I thought Delaware at first because of the black tips, but then she got more yellowy and thought she was dirty! 😂 The yellow didn’t come off and her barring really started to come in. So I’ve just questioned her! Neat mixed breed.

Lakeshore eggers are legbar crosses, meaning only half of them inherit the crests. You wouldn’t get a Delaware x marans from a hatchery, and Delawares do not come in that color.
