Lakeshore Eggers or ColorPack Layers or Easter Eggers

He said it was because they still produce the egg color and many still have the same muffs and stuff. His description makes it fairly clear but I asked if he would consider adding that they do not breed true. They do lay big eggs and lots of them and thats why he said picked these.

According to the chick hatchery, their easter egg color pack chickens dont follow the same pattern as ees and wont breed true because they are a hybrid. Im thinking the freedom ranger ees may be the same thing? I want the fluffy faces and ability to breed next year or two, but freedom rangers sounds like they have great chicks at a decent price. I think im going to order both and track the differences.

Please update us and let us know what differences you find!

I don't understand the "don't breed true" part. Isn't that the definition of Easter egger? Off colors and different color eggs?

Here's the thing... EEs aren't pure bred. They are also mixed breed or mixed heritage chickens. The only consistent thing about EE is that they can lay any color egg (but were bred to have the blue egg gene), can have any color skin and any comb type... crested or not, muffed and bearded or not, rumpless or not, tufted or not.... If it was bred with the intention of having blue or green eggs... its an easter egger and usually will not produce young consistant with its type.
Ameraucana are a pure bred breed of chicken that if bred to its breed and color, will throw young consistent with its type and color. Same with Araucana.

I know they are both mutts, but im curious to see the physical differences between the two. Ees typically do have that certain look though not always.
