Hiya. One of our female ducks is limping, no signs of injury but has a lump under her foot, she is eating and drinking but wobbly. She lets me look at her foot and I can feel one or two lumps (scaley ones). Any idea or is it a trip to the vets?.. Cheers

It could be Bumble foot, which is staff, if you can afford a vet then by all means let them deal with this since it may require cutting to get the bumble out.

Let us know what you decide, or try research on Bumble and see if you think this is what it may be.

Thank you, I will have a look to see if that is what it resembles...

In the mean time you may want to soak her foot in some warm Epsom salt water. just don't let her drink the water since it acts like a laxative. 1 cup to 1/2 gal of warm water.

Hiya. Took her to vet this morning, it is indeed bumblefoot, she is on antibiotics. None of our other ducks have it. anyway we will see how she gets on. She has gone inside as I think she feels a bit sorry for herself. Perhaps it would be better if she doesnt run after the others anyway. Thank you for replying, this site is great for information/help on all things poultry/duck.

Hi to you too, Glad you were able to get her to the vet, I think it would be best if she has a bit of time off from running around just till you notice it looking better, also I'd still soak her foot in Epsom salt water, it is really good for inflammation. Let us know how is does,.
