Lame hen

She was attacked about a month ago and I had her in the house til it was all scabbed over and almost gone. The only thing I can think of is if they pecked at the scab and it bled the would have kept pecking.
She laid an egg every day for me when she was in the house a month ago. Now she isn’t laying. I think she is about 6 months old but I’m not sure.

This picture was just taken 2 days ago. She is a Rhode Island Red

No the photo was taken 2 days ago - she is a Rhode Island Ref

OK, I think I may have this straight now (forgive me).
She was attacked by (something or the chickens) a month ago. She was in the house until she healed. When you put her back in with the others (no reintegration period?) the chickens (or maybe something) attacked her again - BUT this time she's also lame. (She wasn't lame from the first attack right?)

IF the chickens are the initial attackers (first attack) and of the second attack (2days ago), then I would be wondering if something is wrong with her - if she's sick/weak, etc.

If she was attacked by something else the first time, recovered, then put back after a period of time - the other chickens may not have accepted her (not unusual for them to view a lone chicken as a newcomer to be run off) and attacked because of that - of course a scab can be the target of attention as well.

As for the lameness - I would treat her wounds, monitor her for infection. Keep her eating a balanced poultry feed, give her some goodies to eat like egg. Add some poultry vitamins to her water for a couple of days a week and see how it goes.

Thank you - you have it all accurate - I’m glad her spirits are good. She was back with the flock for about 2 weeks when the 2nd attack happened - the chickens seemed to accept her back. I never saw them pecking at her.
