700

It has been between 40-70 degrees the past week and today it is about 40f which supprises me becuase iv seen these snails only in the summer before. Is it okay for my chickens to eat them, i think i saw one of my hens eat one, and are they okay to handle?

It all depends. Snails are intermediate hosts for some kinds of parasites, as are grass hoppers and earth worms. So, it depends on your attitude towards such things. IMO, it's not practical, nor is it advisable to keep the chickens from eating insects and worms, as well as the occasional mouse, bird, frog and snake. So, let the feeding frenzy begin! My birds eat what ever they catch, and I've never seen signs of internal parasites, nor would I give my flock any worm medications. I do give them plenty of garlic, pumpkin seeds, and have been trying to get some worm wood growing.
