So um... Yeah this chick seems like a wheaten with a crest so I have absolutely no idea what happened lol. This mystery chick keeps getting more and more mysterious!!!

The other babies are getting big too! I'm honestly really happy with how they're turning out!

Saffrons hens have been laying the most beautiful eggs! This egg in particular washed off as darker brown with speckles but the bloom made it practically reddish brown. These white speckles really do fascinate me! I was worried they were calcium deposits but once the bloom is gone they're just bark brown speckles. I'm going to try to breed for this and I actually just did a hatch from saffrons flock and I got 5 wheaten chicks out of these eggs!!!

Don't know, but I have a couple hens that lay pink or purple. All descendants of the same BA hen, who laid pink, so obviously heritable on some level.

I've hatched 23 chicks in total and I only have 1 make rn, It's is crazy! All the wheatens are almost 95% orange in all their plumage except for the tails, and my birchen hatch has a singular male with a red crest and wattles and he hatched only to get splayed hours later so I can't use him in my project. Idk if it's genetic and even though I fixed his leg issues idk if I should use him in my project. They're all quite friendly though!
