Langshan Thread!!!

How old are your birds?  I do have some Langshans here in N CA that need to be rehomed! :)   I also have Pita Pintas and Pita Pinta/Cream Legbar mixes that lay green eggs.  They are all very calm, friendly birds that get along with all the other birds in the flock.

Ooh LoL...I am talking to you on the Northern Californian thread!

5 weeks old. Think it's looking like a girl? Pretty feathered out

I shared these pics on FB but thought that I would post them here, too. These are some of my 20ish week old pullets out of Shang and his girls Lucy Lui and Mulan. They are big, beautiful girls who are very suspicious of my camera.

Quite a few of them have Shang's nice broad back and deep breast. I'm letting them mature more before making any decisions on which ones stay in the breeding program.

Edited to add that some of them are in the process of their juvie molt and are waiting for their tails to grow in. Black feathers are everywhere!

You're welcome!  I'm so glad that she went to a good home and I hope that she gets along well with your blue Langshan.  Be sure to tell me what you name her.  We just called her the splash girl with the light eyes!

We named her Priscilla. We have a Beatrice, Lucy, Myrtle and now Priscilla. We have a older naming scheme going on. :):cd
I hate to have her isolated though, she seems very healthy.

That's a nice name for her! My childhood Sunday School teacher's name was Priscilla. She is a beautiful lady with a very big heart! I would still keep her in quarantine for a while. Sometimes the stress of relocating can bring out problems. Please let me know how she gets along with her new buddy!

Debi is right. Keeping her in quarantine is the best thing you can do for her and your flock. Her immune system will be suppressed while she is acclimating and she "could" have an underlying condition that was kept at bay while she was healthy.

Congrats on your new pullet!

Debi, those are some good looking pullets! Happy you got some good stock from Sherry! She has some good birds!
