Hi there!!
After months of research I have decided I would like to hatch a flock of Langshans. I am looking for some quality, large, black, splash and blue fertile eggs to get started. Do you have any available for shipment to California?
Thanks,
Dawn

Where are you in CA? I'm in the San Francisco Bay area.

I am in Auburn. 45 minutes east of Sacramento.
That's not too far from me. My best friend lives in Placerville and we make it up there every 2 or 3 months. If you want eggs from my flock, maybe we could meet in Coloma. . I have a blue rooster over black pullets & hens. I have been hatching over 50% blues. My hope is to get a few decent blue pullets to put with my rooster next year and hatch some splash.

I could ship you some eggs but I'm less than impressed with the viability of USPS shipped eggs. In the past year, I have received over 6 doz shipped eggs (most shipped from here in CA) and had 4 chicks hatch from them. I hatch over 100 chicks of my own each season and always set some of my own eggs with the shipped eggs. My eggs hatch and the shipped eggs don't. So, I don't think that it is my incubator or hatching procedure.

Sherry Parker lives in Patterson, CA and has beautiful black Langshan. I think that her original birds came from a breeder in AZ who has been breeding them for over 40 yr. I started my flock with a trio from her and my black pullets/hens are from this trio. My blue rooster is from a breeder in N CA whose birds are from the Forrest Beauford line.

Oh how wonderful!
I would love to meet you in Coloma!!
I have ordered some black and blue eggs from ChickenFanatics.com in Ohio, but I was really hoping to find a great breeder closer to home that wouldn't mind chatting chickens with me and helping me establish a great flock! I would love to have some splashes, too.
Let me know when you are planning your next trip!

Will do. I'm very pleased with the chicks that I've been hatching. They are stronger hatchers than last year's babies. And the blues are adorable! Last year, all I hatched were blacks. They are cute but I'm liking have both colors this year!

I am so excited!
We dismantled our hen house and are prepping the area for a fancy schmancy concrete pad.
My new incubator arrived last week and my Black and Blue Langshan eggs from ChickenFanatics.com just arrived!!
Now I just need some Splashes and some love from the Hatching Gods and I'm golden!
Woohoo!!

sweet. pretty. good eggs. i actually bought a quad for them to make "slow grow" meat babies. I didn't want commercialized grow fast, slaughter at 7 weeks meat chickens. they are elegant. they look intelligent, at least, lol. they gallop rather than the hilarious chicken run of my other breeds. and they're cool because not everyone has them.
