Langshan Thread!!!

Pics
Thank you. This is the chance we take on shipped eggs. From what I've been reading, hatching out with crossed beak is not genetic. Next time I'm going to pay more attention to what hatches from what eggs and the air sacs on them. I would NOT hesitate to order from the same breeder again. We WILL get there!!!!!
I am so sorry! I have been trying to get Langshans and I hatched one about a month ago...and waiting for more eggs...I can't imagine what you are feeling...

I had brought two started chicks last spring and the roo had a cross beak so I sold him to a farmer for a flock watchdog...I have the hen she is so pretty...Yes I am waiting for eggs from the same breeder of my lone chick..it is a blue chick..what colors are yours?

I'm not sure what color they are. I'm pretty new at this. You tell me !

I just hatched my first and yours look like two blue...the black one has white on it's head? Not sure about that one...the white one, should be white...mine that were white colored I believe are splash. I posted a picture of them on the thread and got no response? Maybe I should try again....

They are beautiful. This weekend I'll have time to research more on the colors.

Wow! Mine have never looked anything like those? The two on the left are blues, the one in the middle might be a barred Langshan, but I'm not sure if it's pure Langshan? It's possible to get barred from a black x white breeding. The one on the right looks like a white, but all of my white chicks come out looking black, so that's a guess. They whites never have black eyeliner, whereas all my blacks, blues and my (finally) splash do.

Gotcha. Know how that is, have one breed you really look at and the others are just there for background scenery.

I looked bak through everything and for the life of me, I can't find the person that asked about bantam eggs? My birds have started laying again. I have promised 10 doz. eating eggs to a church for Easter breakfast, but after April 8, I'll be able to send out some black and blue bantam eggs. If anyone is going to shows in the NE (Ohio, PA...) I may be able to bring some pairs or trios to part with?
