I agree with your comment about how regal they are. We are new to backyard poultry farming and have raised a young flock since April that include five Black Langshans and two White Langshans. The Black cockerels are my favorite. They are self-possessed and calm and absolute gentlemen when hand-fed. Unfortunately given the number of roos that we have in the mix, we will need to find homes for some of them soon. Really can't bear to have them processed. Would much prefer to have them placed in homes.

I am looking for some opinions on the quality of three Black Langshan cockerels we have been raising since April. We are new to backyard poultry farming and have found ourselves with too many cockerels so I am looking to re-home several of them. The issue is that I am having a hard time deciding which ones and to where...Especially since they are all three such gentlemen

Any thoughts on the three that I show here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You have chosen the best breed to start your chicken experience! I'm pretty sure that our Langshan experts on this thread would like to see a few more pics of your cockerels from different angles. That would help them determine which of the 3 looks the best. It would help them if you could take a pic from the front, one from the rear, and one looking down at the back to see the back width.

PetRock is right and congrats on your birds!

From these photos, I always tend to like the birds that take longest to mature. The bottom needs a better side shot, barring anything atrocious I would think he is the better bird but Amos is certainly not to be snubbed. The first bird, "Buster" is one I would be safe in giving to a new home. The backs are all a bit flat on them, but oftentimes you won't see the nice U on a male for quite some time. The first male has a flat back, but also "cushioning" on his back that looks to be giving him a slight roach back.

Somehow by the grace of God. I am now the proud owner of a bantam hen. Go to a auction and have befriended the owner...auction is at his farm . Apparently last auction o.some got loose. All were retrieved except one. Later that day she wandered into his barn. He kept but offered her to me as I said I have always thought about languages. She has been living with his bantam cocaine. He said I want her to have a good home! She is beautiful! I will have to get pics! Now a bantam rooster tho I hate adding new birds towards winter! Anything I need to know for care? Personality? Etc? I have named her hearts. :)

I realize these are typos but all of this made me LOL!! Gotta watch those bantam cocaines!

Congrats on gaining the best breed ever!
