Langshan Thread!!!

My big boy (that gets to go to a new home) is an amazing giant at almost 4 months he stands 23" tall. I could watch him all day. He has this zen-like quality about him and gets a bit upset if the hens disrupt his environment with bickering.

This is a post that was made back in September. It may be helpful to read through the thread just to be sure you don't get taken advantage of by breeders selling poor quality birds because of rumors.

what is your thoughts on this color? I was told he came from a good line. To be honest I just fell in love with those feathered clumsy feet they had.

Hello! I'm a little confused. He does have white skin but as for the plumage color I can't really tell based on the photos?

Ha! Sorry about that. He came as a Blue Langshan.

Well SandHill said I wouldn't be sending any of the 15 langshans I ordered. I was so happy when I saw the box form said I had four, then I counted them, only one! And only 22 chicks not 25... Don't know what I'll do with just one, and no one around here has them. It is definitely the biggest chick, larger than the white giants I ordered and the red sussex they sent free as packing peanuts.

This one will be like a dog, begging, following you everywhere. They have the best personalities.

Hello All, I'd love some opinions on whether this bird is a female or male. I'm told that it's about 4 months old, and over the last few days has been getting appreciably louder than it has in the past. 5am ba-GAWKing is the new norm, and not ideal when we have neighbors in close proximity. Thanks!
