Have two broodies on eggs. Did a form for one. Still need to candle the eggs the other hen is on...expecting them to be infertile and then will give her some new eggs and submit a form them.
I've got a dozen or so eggs coming in tomorrow that I'm planning to set on Saturday. I'll fill out my sign up form when I see how many eggs I receive intact.
My Easter hatch chickies are growing like mad and tearing around the brooder. Little Lazarus, or Lazzie, is still the runt, but he's become quite the bold little bully! Today he chased a larger EE (ETA - Lazzie's a SS) to get a coveted curly bit of pine shaving, and he shoves others out of the way to feed! I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I'm thinking roo.
Still, I'm glad he's doing so well!
I'm excited for my new eggs. I'll be setting Silver and Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas, which should be very pretty. Time to get everything cleaned a bit more thoughly and set up for another go!
Just set 26 a couple of hours ago.. 12 Silkie and 14 Copper Maran X Easter Egger. I had set 60 after the Easter hatch, but with the 4 1/2 day power outage from all of the tornadoes that hit our area, I am left with 37 and who knows how many of those will hatch.
But, we had FUN trying to keep them warm with a coleman propane tent heater, all shoved snuggly in my oven. We kept the door ajar to regulate the temperature.. They are set to hatch next Thursday and all of what remains, is still wiggling when candled so, it will be interesting to see how many will actually hatch.
So many, so close together... What's your 'bator set up?
EDIT: Scratch that, going to check out your thread.
Hehe, yeah. Let's just say I'm not a 'by the book' hatcher. I just pop them in and out of the hatching incubator whenever they're ready whether or not other eggs are hatching at the time....it works
Honestly, I tried to make sure certain ones were close together so I wouldn't have singletons, I didn't realize until I was figuring it out today that they were all pretty close. I have chickens, ducks, guineas, chukar, pheasant, quail, turkey, and goose eggs set, so with all those different incubation times I was bound to mess up sooner or later

This is the first time I've ever had this many in there. When I hatch quail eggs I usually stack them among the other eggs in the turner, but this is ridiculous! I've got another 7 guinea eggs I stole from a nest that need to go in too, and if these EE and BCM eggs don't sell I'll probably find a place to stick them.
She only has 2 eggs, I will give her a few more tomorrow IF she is still on the nest, otherwise the eggs will all go in the incubator tomorrow night.
I have 2 plus dozen sitting on top of my incubator waiting to go in. Right now I have hatches due the 7th,11th,13th,18th,21st & 22nd. Plus I have been sticking my peacock eggs in all over the place
I need to get my act together and set these eggs to hatch once a week.
My flock freeranges and my kids will find nests under a bush etc with a dozen or more eggs, can't waste them, have to incubate!!! Then I go to the local auction here and I can't help but buy hatching eggs. The prices are to good to pass up.
I've got 5 Welsh Harlequin duck eggs due to go into lockdown in 1 week, can I semi participate?
Taking a short break due to having Aussie nationals in 2 1/2 weeks, will be gone for a few days and won't trust my egg watching to DH...that would just scare me and frustrate him.
Glad to see the group together for another round, was going to be a sad, lonely 6 months til October, otherwise.
I'll donate a GFM to a contest for a prize if one needs one.
I will fill it out. I am going to stop, I am going to stop. I have Red bourban turkesy pipping right now, Will have red golden pheasnat,Black coppers, may a wheaten maran, blue wheatne ammauracans, blue copper marans wellsumers next weekend. and set last monday red golden pheasants, welleis black, and blue coppers
