I didn't officially join your group but have been surrepticiously hatching alongside you. My hatch finishes up today...I know I am supposed to swear off for a while but instead I will tell the truth - I gotta clean the bator quick for the next set of eggs.

On the June 8th I have 5 Sumatra eggs hatching from gamebirdsonly, I am hoping for duns, his roo is dun and his hens black and blue. He told me he only hatched blues, which would still be great but I am really hoping for Duns. I also have some of my EEs due the same day and then Blue Wheaten OEGBs a few days later. Today I set almost 3 dozen eggs. 6 bantam Shamos, 7 BBS Asils, 6 BBS Orps from corancher and 3 White Orps from corancher and I almost forgot 5 Turkey eggs; Bourbons and BourbanXRed Palm crosses. Wish me luck! I will post pics when they hatch

Well poo. One of my turkey chicks croaked. It was healthy this morning, and not the one I would have expected to croak.

Heat stroke? Stepped on? I dunno. They are in full shade after 9 am, and it was still kicking then. Darn.

I added a pan of water for "turkey wading" just in case. Hopefully the new Icelandics wont do something stupid and drown themselves in it.

I just finished building yet another 8x8 pen. Re-arranged the entire barn to squeeze it in and juggled around birds. I still don't have enough room.

And I have chicks hatching out right now! I have a bunch that I am bringing to a friend tomorrow and a bunch going to the auction on Sun. I have vowed to shut down the big incubator after these last batches are hatched out, should be the end on June or 1st week in July.
Now I have 3 more hens going broody.

1 is a big doopy Austrolorp, she keep sitting on my layer eggs, and breaking them ! Today I got bit to pieces taking the eggs away. I felt bad and left her 1 egg. Yup she broke that too. She is a bald, sticky mess

1 Cohin hen is sitting on nothing ! And 1 Silkie hen joined in. She has 1 egg right now, I will give her 2-3 more. She's an awesome broody/mama. And I have another cochin hen sitting on 6 EE eggs, that should be hatching soon. I never even wrote down the date.

Tamara, I had a broody hatch one with some Icelandics the last day of March. She is pictured below, she's the white one!! I also have another white that was part of the Easter Hatchalong. It is also a pullet. My adults (rooster and three hens) now belong to a friend who will be breeding them. She will be taking three of the pullets (the white one and two that have spangling) from the Easter Hatch when they get a little older.

My last hatch was down to 5 eggs. One shouldn't have even made it to lockdown and 3 where late quiters.

I have a lonely chick, but he's doing fine with the week olds.

Have pheasant eggs in lockdown. Never hatched them before and I'm nervous

Haven't updated in a while but been reading along, I hate typing on the tablet.

Since Easter I have 6 others outside, 3 black, 2 silver columbian and 1 gold columbian. All of the columbians are possiably barred too but I need to check, I know at least one is for sure.

In the brooder I have 2 x 2wo chicks, 1 black and 1 black bared, 3 x 1wo I'm not sure of the colors yet. The 1wo chicks aren't from my birds so they will be surprises when they feather out.

In the 'bator I have the last batch I'm hatching till spring... supposedly. We'll see how that goes, I wanted B'day chicks and that's in mid winter.

I have... um... about a dozen in lockdown. Is it a sign I'm a hatchaholic if I can't even remember how many are possibly about to hatch?
