So glad I am not alone! I just filled out the form I hope I didn't erase it getting back here.
I just started hatching this winter/spring, and I am so hooked! Good thing I only have a small homemade incubator, if I had anything bigger I could be dangerous! I love the miracle of life and watching things grow! I love candling!
I love to see the little guys swimming around in there! So for this hatch I just set 22 WM BBS Ameraucana eggs. They were shipped, of course, but the air cells on these looked a lot better than my last two hatches.
Here's hoping that we all have the best hatch ever!!
I have a bantam cochin go broody yesterday. She is going to try hatching her first time, I gave her 6 eggs today. 2 other broodys are sharing 4 eggs due on May 15th. And I have 39 in the incubator due on May 18th. I need my husband to build a another coop. Not sure how to ask him yet, as it will be the 3rd one he's had to build.
We'll call this particular hatch thread "over" on the 4th of June. We can all klingon (like worf!!) long after that, but for my incubator drawing, that will be the end.
Im in - i have 14 bantams in lock down now then after they hatch I am putting 10 LF and 30-40 bantam eggs in...
right now I have the place all set up for the new chicks outside - the heat lamp all set up, clean shavings in, etc.... we were out in the barn and I told him I need this one adjustment done on the pen.... he was like you can't put them here you have to keep them in the house.
He is so funny we came in and I am on the forum and he's like any funny stories today? and walks over to the incubator to see if we have chicks yet. I told him its only day 19 we have a few days to go...
