This is kinda sorta almost off topic, but I hadda share the news: the gal at my favorite feed store who needed fertile eggs for her broody hens told me today that eleven of the dozen eggs I gave her hatched! Right on day 21. Her hens are SO happy to be mommies. (She had FOUR broody hens and no roosters in her flock.)

She said most of them were "Amereucanas" so that means they are sons and daughters of Carl. Mwahahahahaha! Carl is my dominant rooster, a very handsome EE. Big, manly rooster, chicks strong!

After messing around with it for about an hour (yeah I am still an idiot when it comes to some technology stuff) I was finally able to get the link to the Foul Fowl contest in my signature line. I only have one entry so far, so let's get those pictures in!

Linda that is great news about your eggs hatching! I have another BYC'er doing a test hatch for me (needed to check my roo's fertility and I just don't have room for more chicks right now). I gave her 16 eggs and it looks like 12 of them are hatching. All 16 started developing though so I am really relieved that Mr. Cogburn is not having "issues"
