Candled before lockdown tonight, only took out 31 definite no's... so that is 147 in for hatching

we'll see what we get this weekend! Most of these are "surprise" eggs, the breeder I get them from didn't mark most of them so I really don't know what is in store until they hatch.... pretty exciting!!! It should be a mix of LF Cochins, Houdans, Welsummer, Buckeye, Marans and Bantam Silkie and Millies

We shall see, might be a surprise or 2 in there too!

WOAH that's a lot of eggs!! I candled tonight too.. Lock-down Thursday a.m. took out one more M.F. d'uccle.. I am down to 22 of the original 41 I was shipped of EE's and MFD's. Ah well.. all of my LF Americauna's are still doing good.. we shall see what happens there in the coming weeks

Well I am down to 17 of my original 47 - lots of detached air cells and non-starters this batch

Lockdown tonight for them.

However, added 15 bantam cochin eggs 2 days ago - unfortunately 6 days in shipping, spent 2 days sitting in a Georgia PO for some unknown reason (so much for priority). Only one detached air cell.

And am now waiting for 30 delaware eggs due ANY DAY NOW (per the PO but who can believe them?)

I need help.....

I have a lot with detached air cells that still seem to be doing well. I will have to see how they hatch. As long as there is growth and movement I just leave em be

I think I will have 17 out of 20 for this hatch, keeping my fingers crossed on the remaining 3 to hatch today before I get home and start messing with them. I have been VERY good and not opened the hatcher once since it started! I planned this one so I would be at work during most of the action - I'm not good at restraint

Candled the turkeys and the next batch thinking I could remove some clears or quitters to make room for another 30 eggs, but all look good! I do believe there is development in all 13 of the shipped project lav lav/spit orps too! Here's to being over run with chickens

So, my eggs under my 2 broody hens should go into lockdown tonight. LOL! Now, how does that work? Do chickens quit turning them? How do they know when it's getting to be time? How do THEY increase the humidity?!

Just a few of the things that run through my mind when I can't sleep. I find that lately I dream "chickens". Weird...

You know what I just realized....I had a 100% hatch under my broody, even though I had to finish the last 4 in the incubator. But they all hatched. That is my first 100% EVER for hatching.

The eggs I got from Wolftracks are doing good. I think I have only pulled out 1.

I also got some EE eggs from Chicken Junkies and out of 17 shipped eggs 13 of them are developing great!!! I am so happy about this because #1 the eggs are developing and #2 I used my husbands work flashlight and I could see veining in blue eggs that are only on day 6!

I give up on trying to count, there's just too many. I'm glad I didn't enter any forms for broodies, I'm currently up to 16 chickens, 4 ducks, and 1 goose. I've also got some pigeons and doves on nests. I just set some more duck and guinea eggs in the bator yesterday and some pheasants too. There is really no hope for me...
