for a good hatch.

Wolftracks & tazcat.... I set 12 shipped white silkie eggs...locked down on 3 and only 1 hatched

Worst hatch EVER !

My eggs were scrambled

And yes my incubator is STILL running and I am hatch 1-2 times a week

I've managed to stop hatching. With impending winter (no seriously, I'm in Maine... already planning for winter) and the fact that I loaned my incubator to a friend who thought he was going to get eggs last week...

...That's saved me. I still have 5 broody hens though, one's been broody for about 2 months. Wish I had known, I would have gotten the emu egg I've always wanted. Unfortunately she's one of my smallest chickens I doubt she could cover it. But she'd try. She's channeling a silkie, I believe.

Hey, have any of you hatched duck eggs? I figure you are all very expirienced so I felt like putting my stress online!

I have 4 duck eggs in my incubator and tomorrow is their due date. (day 28) A lot of people say the eggs start moving or peeping often on day 27 or even 26 and mine haven't done anything!! I feel like this isn't even lockdown, nothing has happened! I candled them a few days before lockdown and they were all moving a lot inside, I even thought I could see either a wing or a beak pointed toward the aircell slightly, and yet no movement or noise. What do you think? Dead or maybe they're just holding off till tomorrow?

Ducks are slow to hatch. Make sure your humidity is where it should be and be patient. Mine never peep like the chickens do. Don't worry yet.

still no movement or anything. I thought today was 29 but my dad said it is actually 28...but with the eggs still silent and immobile that doesn't give me much hope.
is it day 28? I set them at 8pm on June 3rd. and for me it is almost 7 pm July 2nd right now

Kikidee, it also depends on the kind of ducks they are. some take longer than others, up to 35 days I think for some breeds.

I still haven't gotten my random hideous lawn art? Not sure it might have gotten lost on the mail or? ? We did just move too so maybe that got it messed up.. though the guy renting my old house would tell me if it got delivered there..dunno. no biggie just wanted to let ya know
