Large Black Spot on Duckling

I am raising a few Pekin Ducks. One of them has a large black spot on its chest. I have never seen this before. Is this just a birth defect? Will it grow out??

As in it has a large black spot in its down? That will likely turn out to be black when it feathers in, and that means there's a possibility he's a cross. Do you keep any other breeds that may have fertilized the egg accidentally?

No other breeds around. We purchased the male from a chicken swap so maybe he had something in his line.

Every once in a while you will see a black feather or two pop up in production line pekins.
But if it's a good sized spot, sounds like you've got yourself a crossbreed
