They’ll survive for a little while, but they’re sitting ducks. No protection = hawk, coyote, fox, or coon dinner.

I'm not sure how to catch them.....they seem pretty smart....they eat and go back into the woods. I can tell they have not been handled. Does anyone have any advice? I have 4 roosters now that dont want to be touched and I have a tender heart that can not possibly hurt them....They need a coop to prevent predators. As far as the weather they should be fine.

why do things like this happen to me??? Only one is crowing. Will they become aggressive? I have only ever had hens. They’ll survive for a little while, but they’re sitting ducks. No protection = hawk, coyote, fox, or coon dinner.![]()
They will probably not become aggressive. Do you have any hens now?why do things like this happen to me??? Only one is crowing. Will they become aggressive? I have only ever had hens.
No, I don't have any hens right now. This is going to be tricky... I can not believe someone would just dump them. That is sad. I will do what I can to help them. They will probably not become aggressive. Do you have any hens now?
They have no reason to be aggressive towards you. They will not fight each other unless there’s females to fight over.
Sometimes people just don’t want to deal with males, and don’t want to butcher them themselves. It is sad.No, I don't have any hens right now. This is going to be tricky... I can not believe someone would just dump them. That is sad. I will do what I can to help them.
I will be getting my coop ready for them tomorrow. They were not impressed with the feed I bought them..Sometimes people just don’t want to deal with males, and don’t want to butcher them themselves. It is sad.![]()
The other two were likely eaten. The ones who are still alive have likely learned their lesson and are trying to stay safe at your house.Update and question...
I have yet to catch these little stinkers. Two did not return today. the other 2 are very concerned about the woods now. They have decided to roost on my back porch. My back yard is the woods. I have a motion sensor light on and I am wondering if it would be safer for them to have the light disabled? I have a baby possum that goes through my yard every single night and often have deer back where they are roosting. I am not sure what is the safest thing I can to for them. They tried to get into a tree but they were both to heavy and fell out. Any ideas? we just have to get through the night and my husband will build them a high perch.
