My 25 week-old Andalusian hen has developed a large cyst on her leg. She was limping but now not walking at all. She slept on the floor of the coop. Any suggestions?

That sure is quite a swelling. Does it feel warmer than the other side? Can you see any kind of scab or lesion?

On another note: Your cockerel (judging by the incoming spurs) has some poop lumps stuck in his rear fluff, better clean it off to prevent skin irritations.

How does it feel—hard or soft? Have you ever seen tumors in your other birds? Has she been vaccinated for Mareks disease?
The lump is hard and warmer than the other leg. She is not vaccinated. No other tumors on other birds.

We think she is one of our layers. The lump is hard and warmer than the other leg.

If it is a tumor, there probably is no much you can do. If it is a swollen joint, it might get better with resting the leg. I would watch it to see if it gets larger or causes pain.
