Large-ish black lump on hen's new comb.

Hi all,

One of my hens has recently developed her comb and this black lump has been growing with it. Is it something to worry about?

She's just about to start laying and doesn't seem unwell or affected by it. But if it could be something nasty I'd rather sort it out soon than later. I'm relatively new to chickens though so thought I'd seek some advice before panicking.

It's generally not a threat unless it gets into the respiratory tract. Hope you find the link useful.

All 4 were meant to be vaccinated before we got them. But hopefully it will just run its course without any complications.
