The chick will not stay in the cup and he’s dragging the sack all around the incubator spreading blood and yolk. There are a lot of veins on the sack. Do you think I need to cull this chick? I don’t want to keep opening the incubator up while the others are hatching.. any advice? Thanks so much.Early hatch I see.. That looks good, you can move the chick once the yolk sack is absorbed.
I appreciate your help so much. First time using an incubator.. second chick hatched and this is her vent area… is this normal looking? I have a broody hatching chicks outside now and I was going to put them under her once they are dry. They’re all hatching at the same time.If the chick is semi dry take it to the brooder with paper towels for the bedding and keep the chick warm. Keep an eye on it.
Brooder temperature should be at 98 to 100 degrees, please check that before you drop it in.
