So you are trying to figure out if there is any blue in that egg or not?It is! I've never had an olive egg before. I'm leaving towards a wonky tan, otherwise I have a mystery olive layer. It just looks off though compared to what I generally get
Yeah, I think I'll save it until I'm making chicken again and use it so I can see the shell's inside. This weekend, I'll try to round up the araucana looking pullets. If I get any other eggs like this, I'll at least know it's one of them. If it's not one of them, then honestly, it doesn't really matterSo you are trying to figure out if there is any blue in that egg or not?
Because the brown is on the outside of the shell, but blue goes all the way through, it sometimes helps to crack the egg open and look at the inside to see if there is an blue or not. Peeling back the membrane can make the inside easier to see.
Of course it might be confusing from all sides, because some eggs just are like that.
Other than that, I have sometimes carried two or three eggs around to places with different lighting (outdoors in the sun, in the shade, into the kitchen, into the living room, etc). It's pretty common for me to see blue/green clearly different from brown in some lighting conditions, but they look very similar in other conditions.
I will say, whoever it is, is laying great. Practically 1 a day, maybe 6 every week, if not 13 every two weeksHave another 5 or 6 green duck eggs under a hen hopefully (so 9 or 10 total between nests).
The possible layers are a khaki, buff and Rouen, or several Swedish. If all the eggs hatch, is it likely that their colors will give away who mama is?
