Larkwell Valley (2023)

Oh my god, one of my scovies is a little monster!

My Swedish drake bred one of his gals out of the pool, and it definitely takes him longer to... erm... adjust himself than it does to do the deed, and one of the scovies was just obsessed with trying to bite him there!

Like chasing after him and running in circles around him to try and get a bite as the poor Swedish was trying to get him to go away! I had to intervene and pick the scovy up so that he didn't get a lucky shot in and just hold him until the Swedish was all set again!

For the duck calculator, do I use Penciled for the fawn and white runners? Or something else? The picture looks like mine, but I've seen something completely different be called penciled.

@Pyxis , any idea?

Oh look! A big juicy wiggly worm!!!

Down to the lowest number of chickens I've had in almost 10 years. Almost finished rapidly culling and I'm glad because I'm not sure how many more I have in me before I need to stop again.

Ducks on the other hand, well they're finding out that they have strength in numbers now

She was safely relocated before the pool was drained and refilled. First one I've seen this year, and the first green one at all. Usually they're yellowish out here

Ringed Rouen turned out to be a boy, darn it. But the other three are females based on their quacks at least. One is much smaller than the others(but was the first fully feathered) and I'm nervous she might be a mallard that wasn't marked. I don't see anything missing on her back toes, but she does not tell me 'rouen' when I look at her. She's not much larger than my call ducks.

She is currently in the call pen just so I have 2 females in with the two boys. Still looking for more females, but everyone I've contacted only does pairs or single males.
