Larkwell Valley (2023)

Chickens are strange creatures. -30... I can't even fathom that. I've never even seen 0 degrees.
It was awful. Most of the cars in town and in my area were dead for multiple days. Thankfully it was over the weekend for a lot of us

Thinking the odds of getting a penciled might be good. They're sold out (along with a few other colors) the week mine hatch, so they'll have as many as they can in the incubator, so hopefully that means an extra or two get thrown in my assortment

Lost Khaki the Phoenix last night. He'd been slowing down a lot for the last few weeks. It was going to happen sooner or later. Sucks, he was a beautiful bird. I have a male that looks close enough (I think the male has blue though, not whatever Khaki had) rhat will be taking his place.

Weirdo is still iffy. I'm thinking end result is that she's going to need to be put down, but I'm going to get the big pen cleaned and filled with food and water and put her there today after I get home and see how she gets around. Hopefully walking more encourages the dead parts to fall away faster so I can see what she's got left.

One of my white silkies even lost most of her toes on one foot. She's been through a handful of winters now with nothing at all and then this one finally did some damage. She's not very comfortable right now, but I doubt bringing her in would make her any more comfortable since it's typically above 30F right now so the basement isn't much warmer and she has her flock outside
