last duckling left alive ! need help whether to assist hatching or not! please help

Here is a better picture. So you can see there is the pink exposed bit on the back of his head then you can kinda see the cord connected to it which ends with the clear fluid bubble on the end.
WOW, Well I think the pink on the back of his head will clear up, possible form a scab and end up being OK, I'm wonder if that bubble of fluids is really attached to him, I'm wondering if it's just gooy stuff stuck to a piece of his skin which would be the "cord". Let me show this to my vet and see what he says.. is he still making noise?.. I'll show this to a couple of other people that might have some advice on this as well... Hang tight will figure out the best thing for him..

That's sort of what I was thinking, but I don't have any crested ducks.

WOW, doesn't sound like a good survival rate. Poor little guy.. Hoping for the best though, I thought maybe MAYBE some matter from the bottom of the shell but now that I read those links, I'm thinking differently..

Thank you...

Woah glad I don't breed crested just plain old Pekins, though it sounds like any bird may carry the gene and not have a crest my ducklings have never been crested. I hope his ok... looks scary though. Be careful not to let him rush out of that shell it looks quite red and like he may still be attached, though its been a few hours since you posted. Is he/she ok?

Ok so duckling still alive this morning, the head bubble has ruptured and is now this dried bit on the back of its skull. Both eyes are now open to . I've taken him out of the incubator because he wasn't drying and the temperature here is pretty close to it anyway. He is super tired and weak and hasn't got the walking thing down but early days yet. He drank some sugar water to.

Not part of his brain then if it ruptured and his alive?

Glad his still hanging in. I had a duckling who was a late hatcher and seemed to take forever to walk but in two days he was running playing and very active, although slightly aggressive with the other ducklings. I'm sure he/she thought it was a human after spending so much time with me lol.
Any way don't give up on it yet. All you can do is keep a close eye on it and hope for the best, or take it to a vet though I'm not sure if there's much a vet could do either.

Yeah I won't give up till either he does or he is in pain. And yeah I don't think it I his brain I think it is like extremely big blob of fatty tissue and it seems covered with thin skin so I guess we will see. He is cheeping stronger now still no walking but no rush. I will keep updating ! Thanks for all the support though you guys are amazing !
