last duckling left alive ! need help whether to assist hatching or not! please help

Yep he couldnt get passed the membraine, head is out now and cant see any sign of the yolk being out but I have my cup redy just in case. He is tired but cheeping

Awesome. Yes I've heard they get sticky if too humid but also to hard if not humid enough. Its normal for them to be tired, my ducklings usually sleep for 12hours before becoming active, but there are exceptions who got up and running after only a few hours. So is his bottom still in the egg?

Yep he is fully out, he had membraine stuck to his bottom and the cord was still attached but it came away pretty easy now he has a little mucus cord still attached but he seems all plugged up. I am glad I got him out when I did because in the left over shell there was this green grey goo whih could be fungus or bacteria luckily it didnt look like it got down the umbilical cord it smelt terrible!! I dabbed some diluted betadean on the cord and dissinfected the incubator before putting him back in to dry.
And I just candled the last egg in there after thinking all this time it was no viable to find an internal pip!! Here we go again! Haha

Great news. I think what your describing (greenish blob) is normal, all of mine have had in left in the shell when hatching, I think its their poop and just left over muck, though it didn't stink so may be different.
Excellent that he/she won't be an only child. They are a lot happier with a friend. The cord should dry up and fall off just be careful as I've heard they can pull on it and rip organs out but if its clear its a really good sign.

....his is my last viable egg and I dont want the baby to turn like the other and die. I am quite worried even though I think this baby is going well. I am keeping a close eye on it what should I do if it turns? How long between pipping and zipping and zipping and hatching? It has been externally pipped for about 18 hours and shows no signs of wanting to zip. It is alot quieter
When you interrupt a hatch be sure to rapidly return the piped eggs to the exact same position in relation to the center of the Earth and the Sun or other light source in operation while the eggs were incubating. Failure to do so may confuse or bum-foozle the hatchling causing it to assume a position in which it may be unable to turn in a manor that will enable it to hatch.

This is also (IN MY PERSONAL OPINION) the big reason for lockdown. It keeps the chicken keeper from doing too much "helping" or interfering with the natural process of hatching.

Yep he is just snoozing in the incubator looks pretty good. Yeah I always put the pipped eggs right back where they came from in the same posistion. After fuzz butt is dry I will look at the egg and se if it needs a safety hole.

He is all dry and out of the incubator. Just wondering there seems to be a dried blood mass attached to his navel. It isnt bleeding and isnt big enough to show through his fluff it is just there. Is it a scab? And will it just fall off? Or do I need to do anything? He is active and cheeping and happy. Just wondering if there is anything else I need to do/worry about

His navel will heal up, just let it dry and heal, it could take some days. Congrats on the duckling, super cute!!

Ok thanks for all the help and support ! Um maybe a weird question but how long until it starts pooping ?? I am still a worried new mum :p I also think it had trouble getting out of the egg because it has a tiny little bill. Ive also just helped the other egg pip as it is weak and struggling.
