Last Egg for Awhile Has Pipped...

Twila, this little one will be #20 in the brooder. I'm sweating being able to keep them in it till about Jan 26 when I will do a major shuffle of birds and there will be room in the nursery coop. It's one of those things like, well, this bird is sold and gone, so these can move over there and these others can move in here, freeing up this other space, etc. At the end of that day, I'll be a wreck! My DH may just throw up his hands and move on down the road, LOL!

Oh you'll be hatching again once I hatch out the little barred orpington in a few weeks.

Ok Speckled just one last thing before I know you are 100% going to put it away............when you go to gather your eggs put each one up to your ear...................." I wanna be a chicken..I wanna be a chicken..I wanna be a chicken ..please help me be a chicken...please" Speckled it is your duty as momma chickie to give every chick out there their chance at life....

OK now really you cant possibly be as bad as I am I have gotten so far 50% of my eggs have ended up in the incubator, since the girls started laying since the move. My husband doen't realize they are laying all that much just thinks we get a sporadic egg or 2 however I did have his permission to set the 2 dozen replacement eggs that went nowhere so I am adding as I candle and take these out, hope he doesn't look too close at the incubator.

And they say I'm the tempter here!

The baby is out finally and chirping its head off LOUDLY. After its fluffed out, it will go into the brooder with the other slightly older monsters and I'm done for awhile! Truthfully, incubating in winter is a bit dicey with our precarious power we have here. Now, I just have to keep power to the brooder, not the bator, hatcher, brooder and nursery coop. The little man at the power company on the bicycle cant pedal fast enough when his feet get cold, LOL.
