Had to put one down...everything started coming out. The intestines were dying outside of the body so I ended the poor thing's misery. I hate myself for killing something but I'd rather go that way than "Bravehearting" it...

maybe your thermometer is not calibrated properly

It is, I had two of them in there. Both calibrated with my thermostat. My thermometer told me .5 degrees higher than actual temp.
