So I am on day 14. Do I wait to see pips or movement to remove the eggs from their rails and do lockdown or just proceed in removing the eggs from the rails and put them on a towel on the bottom of the incubator now, increase humidity, and wait 3 days? So confused but excited at the same time...Feel like a teenager all over again...

Today should be lock down. You will want to get everything done today.

Remove the rails or cover them over. Use something in the bottom that is non skid like that rubber shelf liner with the tiny holes in it. Chicks can get splay leg easily on slick surfaces in the incubator. Put on the eggs on top of this material.

Open your vents wide open. Get your humidity up to 65 % to 70%. You can use a damp sponge in a cup of water so it wicks water up into the air of the incubator.

And just wait. Day 17 as the hatch day is not set in stone. They can hatch days later. After they pip, poke a hole through the shell to breath, they can sit like this for 24+ hours. So just let them be. Do not open the incubator lid if there is any pipping going on as the chicks can dry up and stick to the shell and die.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks Two Crows! Just added the cup of water with sponge! I'm on edge like expecting mother right now!
