My 1st bundle didn't want to leave her nest..induced almost 2 full weeks after due date. I backed up from everyone during delivery til they asked if i wanted my baby to die! 1st time and she was 9.8 pounds. The other 2 were in the 6# range and so easy that i told the hubby not to even think about more just because they slipped right out. Have 2 say big babies tend to be the healthiest too. Congrats to all and my sympathy for mom- she'll be telling her baby birth weight story with laughter later down the road;-)

yeah after she gets over the shock of how big he is. First time 9.8 thought first time 8.4 was bad enough, then 9.5 yeah I stopped and the only thing that slowed him down was his size still only about 2.5 hours, first one was 5.5 hours, and she was 2 weeks late, second was a week late, they just liked being all toasty warm.

I just love a man in uniform...what a good looking young man. I have a grandson in the navy and a grandson and granddaughter in the army who are both in Afghan. right now. I haven't heard anymore on mom and baby but mom had a c-section which was probably for the best. I had 7, ranging from 7.3 to 9.10 but I had easy births also.

I have three blocks done and will try to take pix tomorrow. Was busy today with Installation of Officers at the Masonic Lodge of which hubby will be chaplain this year. He was Master of the Lodge last year. I do the newsletter for the Lodge so I was taking pix most of the time.

I chose a pattern that said for beginners and they lied. Those quarter triangles are giving me a fit and they usually don't. I'm considering another pattern but I like the one I'm doing so may just muddle along with it. It's comprised of 5.5 squares cut into quarter triangles, 4 and 7/8 squares cut into triangles, 2 7/8 squares left that size and some cut into triangles. They work up pretty though.

thanks for the compliment, 7 wow I'm the last out of 7 but I had only 2, and they were pretty easy, I just can't understand someone being in labor for like 20+ hours that is so crazy to me. my first was about 5.5 hours and about half that the second time. I used to call my son a sack of potatoes because of his weight at birth.

LOL. Mine weren't too bad. The first was 6 hours, and the second was 8 (but she had a giant head for her 6.5 lb body). Can you say forceps?

Glad all that's over with, most of the time.

Marty OMG, my dau (first) was stuck and I had a really short nurse and I remember her standing on a box and she pushed really hard on my belly to get her out, what can I say Military hosp, you would not believe what you go through when you have a baby in one of those, had to change my own bed, they were nice and brought me the sheets !! have other horror stories for that delivery, son was born in a civilian hosp and my doc knew what I went through with the first and he moved me to a private room and I was to be catered to, it was really nice but they wouldn't even let me change my son's diaper.

I have four blocks done. Will probably do more today. We have no water as something froze at the well. We have 6 families on the well (we're our own water company) so the sec. has to call the well man. Can't clean without water....OH! MY! What a shame. Now I will have to quilt. Bummer!
