ok i just have to say that i want to thank Peeps and Jleigh and everyone else here in Guinea's BYC. As some of you know, we only have one guinea, and i am hoping i can get one more female next spring to be her buddy BUT thanks to you all, i am most certainly going to have more guinea's in the future!! I am hooked. yup. done, finished and madly in love with guinea's.

Now all i have to do is wait..2-4 years until we move/build our retirement home and you can bet your bottom i will be demanding a coop with a separate section for my guinea flock!!! I can't wait!!! i am so excited!!

I got my wish - 20 keets in the hatcher this a.m. (3 are still in the hatcher drying & one died

. I think it was trampled, but there's no way to tell for sure). This isn't a good shot - bad lighting - but so far, including the dead one, I've hatched 27 out of 32 eggs. I have two more eggs that have pipped, so who knows. This is the hands-down BEST percentage of hatch to eggs set I've ever had. Anybody want some Buff Dundottes or Pearl Grays? LOL. I might have one Buff in there, but too soon to tell. Not one chocolate or brown.

If you are referring to JLeigh, she is located in North Georgia. She has not posted since August 28, 2013 but apparently she does check in from time to time. If you really want an answer to your question, I suggest that you PM her and I feel confident that she will respond.

can you raise guineas with chickens ?

I have a lovely little lady who lives with our chickens. She has never known another guinea gonna change that very soon but she is 5-6 years old now and lives quite happily with the chickens. She is one of my Roosters favourite lol He mounts her a lot and at night they sleep together, he is usually on top of her lol
