I want her so badly! She is very pretty and that picture gives her no justice!! I will definitely update when(not "if") I get her home!

The only runner I have is a fawn and white drake.. more like a "fawning" drake, because he doesn't have the grey/black head like they are supposed to...

good example of the black head.... http://logcabinfarms.com/images/fawn_and_white_runner_drake.jpg

Believe it or not, one of my runners went broody this year. It shocked me, cuz usually they drop and run. You should see the pile of eggs she is sitting on. She is sharing the nest with a chicken that comes and sits when she has to get up. It's soooo funny. When she gets back from eating, bathing and drinking she stands by the nest waiting until t he chicken gets up. Makes me laugh so hard. I was sad b/c her mate got eaten by my dumb dog a few weeks ago, so I think this is her way of mourning- maybe? At any rate, I'll be interested to see what hatches out!!
I'll try to snap some pictures too. I think runners can have a beige head- not only black/white?

Wow I am surprised that she sat and very sorry about your loss

Definitely post pics when your duckies hatch! Haha, I find myself laughing out loud at my ducks and chickens too

The female runners can have the tan heads but I don't think the males are supposed to.. beats me

Anyways post pictures as soon as the ducklings hatch! Post pics of your runners, too

I have a buff girl on a single egg right now and the daddy is my runner.

Okay so I finally got a chance to walk to the park and get some more pictures of her. I, of course, forgot my camera at home so I had to use my cell

Anyways it shows her cute face better and how tall and upright she is. It also shows how tiny she is!!
(that's one of the pekins she hangs out with's rear end in the background)

From what I've read, you get the lavender from blue parents. The outcome of blue parents is blue, lavender, black, and splash.

Here is a link that says that:
http://www.ashtonwaterfowl.net/indian_pics.htm <-- scroll down to the pic of the runners that are lavender, black, blue, and splash. 2nd pic down on the left.. 7 runners

I read it somewhere else but I can't seem to find that website.. I will post it later if I come across it!

Both of our Runner girls are broody and sitting on the same nest.

:Just goes to show that just because they aren't supposed to or rarely do something, doesn't mean it won't happen! BTW, love the lavender color. Wish I could get some of those.
