Lavender Indian Runner: New Update And New Pics!

I could, easily, but my mom's friend is going to get her I think, because it is against the law to take a duck from a lake.. even though it is against the law to let a domestic one such as her let go at the lake, in the first place. My mom's friend has a permit to do it though.. I'm just having a really hard time waiting!!

Oh yeah, I think that's where I saw it! lol. I'm not really one for breeding, but if I can get a pretty lavender I'll give it a shot. It'd be better if any of my runners every sat on their eggs though. They would just drop them and walk off.

Haha I know what you mean, Crayonsmom, runners are definitely not know for their broodiness..

Would someone please tell Hershey she is NOT supposed to be broody?? And especially every time she has more than 6 eggs hidden somewhere?
I love the duck you are trying to rescue, she's heavier than my Runners, she looks a lot like my Runner/Pekin crosses did.

She is beautiful!! You must let us know when you get her home

Here's a pic of my little fawn & white crested runner... She was adorable - very tiny & just so cute... She decided to make a nest under my horse trailer. We didn't even know she had it under there until we moved the trailer (thankfully not hitting her!), and found her on the nest keeping 11 babies warm! We moved and had to let my quackers with the new owners

But luckily they liked them

Wow I guess the people that came up with the theory that runners aren't broody didn't do their research properly

Wow, lighter than this gal? I can't imagine! Maybe the pics don't clearly show how little she is! I'll try to post some better pics soon!

Thanks for sharing that cute picture, 19hhbelgian, that's a lovely story and I'm glad that their was a happy ending for your cute runner and her babies. It's amazing how much a skinny little runner can make herself fit over a dozen eggs! I have a broody buff on only one egg, so I don't need to worry about the duckling getting cold!
I will definitely update when I get the little runner! (my family and I named her Snow White!

How about thirteen ducklings! She hatched out eleven and I added two for her to foster:
