Lavender Indian Runner: New Update And New Pics!

If the runners do the same as calls, then I think that color is called silver. We had a few of them this year from our blue calls. They are a very light blue tint color.

That is a link from Europe. They name their color standards different than here. I had some hatch last year and took them to Ohio Nationals and was told they were silvers or the light phase off of the blues. I'll try and dig up some pictures of them as I sold them. I have one duckling right now that will turn out that color. I just don't want that color variety so I try to get rid of those. I had a couple that their bills were as dark as a full blue. The other one had dark splotches throughout the bill.

This is the new baby one. I can't find the pics of the adults. I'll keep looking. This ones bill is starting to turn darker.

She is a lavender runner though.. I don't know if there s another color variation of the silver runner for America but I don't know

If you look on post #1 it has links to lavender runners... I definitely think that that's what she is

My runner/ buff mix looks a lot like your duckling

I don't think she is going to get a dark beak but it is much darker now than it was when she hatched.

I don't mean to hijack the thread and change the subject, but does anyone know the genotype of the Lavender color? Like which dilution genes are involved? It comes from a Blue/Blue mating, right? I've got my Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks somewhere, but I can't remember if Lavender was in there.

Anyways, the point of that question is that, perhaps HenPen could get a pair of Blues and hatch out some Lavenders from them!

Yep I believe a blue/blue mating would result in black, blue, and lavender babies....

I found a lavender Runner and 2 Splash!!! I think she is a lavender!! I will post pics soon...
