According to Holderread, a blue/blue mating produces 25% black, 25% silver, and 50% blue (it sounds like maybe what Holderread calls "silver" is what you mean by "lavendar"...?). I'm recently familiar with this because I just hatched out some blue/blue runners (one black and one silver, as a matter of fact, lol).

Storey's guide does list "lavendar" as a sub-type of ancona, where the genotype is E/e, Bl/Bl, d/d, S/S, R/R (One extended black gene, two blue dilution genes, two brown dilution genes, two bibbed pattern genes, and two runner pattern genes). Only the E/e, Bl/Bl, d/d would affect the actual color--the other two are pattern genes that produce the ancona's patchwork quilt look. So a runner with E/e, Bl/Bl, d/d might be considered lavendar then?

Now that that's clear as mud, lol, I'm going to sign off and go eat some dinner...

Ok, now I have no idea what colors these Runners are..well I know 2 of them (Black & Blue)....if anyone can help please do...

That would be my guess, but I'm pretty new at this, so I really don't know. He does say that silver is often splashed with white, so that would certainly figure. I don't know about the lighter colored one though--I suppose that could be silver too. Since blue is so variable in color, I would guess silver would be too.

One thing is for sure--both of them are gorgeous. If that's what silver looks like, I can't wait for my silver duckling to grow up and look like that.

Hmmm.. if you look at the threads i posted on post 1 the websites call those lavenders...... maybe silvers and lavenders are the same color? HenPen, I love your runners! I think the one in center front pic 1 that looks like Snowy is a lavender (or silver?) What sex are they all? The lavender drakes are supposed to be the color of runner 1 in the 3rd pic..... in the 2nd pic the unknown color could also be a lavender but maybe just darker? Your guess is as good as mine

Anyways, yesterday Snowy laid her first egg!!!!! It is the most beautiful olive green color. I "blew it" (thumbtacking holes in each end of the egg and blowing out the yolk and whites) so we could keep it

I would get a pictures of it and post it but I misplaced my camera

I think of the lavender/Silver I have 2 Drakes and a female.....so 3 that color and 1 Black and the mom which is Blue...I bought them all hoping to get a female or 2 but of all 5 I think I have 2 females and 3 males but honestly I have no idea for sure since they are to young for Drake feathers....and Hubby already said I can NOT keep them all ahhhhhh anyone know how to tell sex?? The blue is mom so I know she is a female...the woman who sold them to me said they were all females.

The Runner in pic 3 & 6 is the same one and in the dog world her color looks like Blue/fawn 7 white...she sure is not the normal Fawn/white but her color is not really Silver either.....
