I know it is not the greatest pic, it's from my cell phone and was very cloudy out all day today. I just got this guy today, he is definitely an Ameraucana, he's got the pea comb and slate legs like my other Ameraucanas. What I'm needing to know is if he's Isabel or what? He is lavender with the Buff coloring.
Once I get a definite answer as to what he is I will have more questions about breeding him to something specific.

Doesn't look like my Lavenders. There appears to be some brown mottling on the side and this ones body shape appears to be taller.
No mottling.

He doesn't look like the Isabel I had, but it's been a few years too, so my memory could be fuzzy. I'd think it's more just lavender with buff leakage. @NatJ , @Amer , any thoughts

Yeah, I also see Lavender with leakage.
I had some of those pop up when I hatched from Lavender X Isabel (Wheaten base) so the cockerels were very leaky.

Isabel rooster coloration is somewhat similar, but it's more evenly distributed among the hackle as well as saddle feathers. Everywhere a Wheaten would have red, they have yellow. Where a Wheaten would be Black, they have Lavender.

I'm also a bit concerned about his comb, and his high tail, as far as breeding goes.

Typewise he does not look very Ameraucana.

I agree the mottling gene is not causing any visible effects.

I see the bits of brown, but they are not the kind of thing caused by the mottling gene, so I would not use the word "mottling" to describe them. (That would be a perfectly valid use of the word in any other situation. It just gets confusing because of the chicken color variety called "mottling" and the gene that causes it.)

I don't have anything else to add.
