Lawnmower vs Rooster GRAPHIC PICS/ Saying Goodbye

Thanks all.

Mr B had surgery on his leg and is stuck inside (and miserable there) so I am watching over his chickens for him. He just every now throws out feed and scratch, they free range on just over an acre. I just refill their water buckets for him. I had said here before that Kubota didn't have any offspring... but I wonder if I am wrong.

He was the only BO on the place.... but this little one looks a little "buffy" to me ??? Cruddy photo cuz it was from the fence with my cell phone (they are all wild, can't get near them)

I cannot help on deciding ancestry of bird in question, however if you decide to ask for this chicken perhaps you could tell mr B that you will give him a male offspring from this chicken if you are allowed to have it. Or maybe his choice of pullet or cockeral.

I wish you nothing but All the best life has to offer!

Oh I don't plan to ask for the bird... just hoping Kubota has someone carrying on his genes. Last thing I need is another chicken (unless it was Kubota )

That would be so great if that was an offspring of Kubota!

Just to know that a part of him was physically living on would be great!

We all know, of course, that part of him will live on with all of us. Especially you Lori!

Lori, I know this is late, i just found out about Kubota......We're all so proud of you,
you were the topic of our 4-h meeting this past week,. you've set a wonderful
example for the other young folks out there. We wish you well!

I just read this whole threat today and I can't even begin to say how sorry I am about Kubota. You did such an excellent job taking such good care of him. If only all chickens were so lucky.

Thanks all

Things have kind of shifted back to normal around my house - no more getting up early to tend to Kubota, or getting soaked in the rain as I bend over him to keep him dry while I change his dressings.

Mrs B called my mom a couple of days ago and asked her when was the best time to catch up with me, she wanted to thank me for tending to Kubota. She has her hands full though, I would think, taking care of Mr B after his surgery. I can't imagine him being a good patient and willingly staying cooped up inside! LOL
