Layer Crumbles as Cat Litter!! WEIRD!

I use pine pellets, keeps the smell waaay down and is much cheaper ($6 for 50lbs). Seems like a waste of expensive feed to me.

I tend to agree with you. I think i'll skip this idea, heck i could only imagine the dogs... they'd be all the heck over it even worse.
 
I just started using the chicken layer clumps for my multiple cat pans. The cats love it. I sprinkle baking soda into it. I don't sense any order. My cost is 14.00 for 50 lbs at our co-op. I was using very fine cut pine chips which ran about 6 dollars after tax. No where as absorbent as the clumps. I have multiple cats and 9 cat pans. When it rains the clumps just seem to dissolve into the earth. When we have a very dry couple of days I rake the solids and dispose of them.
