What ever you want to feed besides a balance complete feed should not be more than about a tableapoon worth.

I am not a fan of taking away from a balanced diet period.

I make them frozen vege treats when the humidity is high here in Oklahoma

While I'm at it asking questions- I know not to expect eggs for the first few days because change is stressful. My questions are A) how long will there be no eggs (3 barred rock hens) and B) Should I expect any soft shelled eggs? I will be offering oyster shell in a separate container from the feed.

Thanks!!!!!! And i heard alot of roosters hatched this year...

I’m not sure about this year but last year I heard of soooo many people getting boys!! And I hatched for the first time ever and literally got 8 boys out of 9 chicks.

This year I added 9 more, 5 of which were straight run, and I thankfully only got 1 boy out of the 5.

I was super nervous after my horrible track record the last time but this breed didn’t come sexed so

My quail hatch so far seems to be a pretty even mix 3 1/2 weeks old now.

@chkncrazy here are some pictures of the cross. 1/2 FBCM & 1/2 cream legbar.
Actually looks better in person then in the picture. I love the little what I call helmet on her head. Very sleek profile like the legbar but Marans color.

Here is another young chick with what I think is going to be very nice plumage. Unfortunately I have no idea what the hen was that produced this result in the cross.
It reminds me of seabright coloring.
