Is there a type of chicken that are really good layers and are more likely to sit on the eggs or does that depend on where you get them?

Red Sex Link/Production Red chickens are great layers! Mine have laid every day since September. However, they've had the broodiness bred out of them. Bantams are also more likely to go broody. Brahmas are ok layers as well as good broodies.

Breeds that lay lots of eggs are less likely to go broody(sit on eggs to hatch them).
